Default Trigger maru career options

Hello

(at work so I have to remember everything)

TMO 2.5 manual says that you have 8 career options (like Task Force Fremantle as "gamey" option)

But browsing trough starting years all i have are these:
-SubPac
-task force xxx/xx (cant remember exact numbers)
-task force xxx/xx (cant remember exact numbers)
-task force 8.5
-new construction '42
-new construction '43

I'm tired of "go to place x and conduct antishipping" and I
understand there is something else to do, but how
do I start these careers what manual says: "task force midway" or "task force fremantle"

I'm using:
TMO 2.5
PATCH
RSRDC

Welcome to the boat mate.
Like to help but I don't have 2.5 loaded up at the moment, hopefully someone who does can help you.

One thing you don't have to follow orders all the time, go where you want and sink ships and COMSUBPAC won't care.
With RSRD you can do all the big battles if you know where and when.
Great fun even if yo just watch.

Thanks mate!

I was shocked yesterday when upon registering here I realized I allready had 6 years ago
Maybe the career option missings are due to fact that I installed (using JGME) TMO2.5 to modded version of SH4 1.5 (after I had disabled TMO1.5.2 from 2008) or maybe not, lets see if someone knows.

Until that where could I find a nice summary of pacific operations and movements so I could go huntig warships?

You can go here to see a list of WWII naval battles.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...2.80.931945.29

That is if you are using RSRD and it looks as though you are.

I'm using the same mods (TMO2.5+RSRDC+ OTC 1.5) and at career start there are only two options: start in Manila named Task Force 3/51/71, or Pearl Harbour named SubPac.
My experience says, that when game send you, to an area with "Binoculars" to patrol xx hours, game estimates that around that point you will have traffic and you can sink ships in that area.
When you get a mission, to go to an area with "Flag" icon, getting close to that area will make the mission complete. After that, usually they give you a mission, to make anti shipping operations, but it's up to you where you go.
RSRDC has the historic battles and campaigns included, so with research on the net (Wiki, Google etc) you can be around the places, where battles are and usually there are warships around.
Also the HQ sends during war messages saying : "Heavy IJN fleet will be in position xx xx at dd/mm/yy around xx hour. Units close try to intercept. They are usually big task forces which can(must) be attacked if you are close.

If you run RSRD it sets the career options.

Most people simply go hunt where they please. However with RSRD the majority of patrol zones have something coming through, but it's a matter of timing. Traffic comes through at a set time, so say you get a patrol zone and you dally around elsewhere for a day, by the time you get to the zone, it may have came through. Sometimes you may rush to the zone and get there a few days earlier, so you stay and the star greys out and leave, but that doesn't change traffic timing, so you may leave and the traffic comes days later and you miss it.

Still your better option is to pay attention to flash messages and try to intercept or just go where you know the action will be or get in one of the better shipping lanes.

Being assigned a Task Force is not the same as travelling with one if that is what your going for. The two assigned Task Force in the list as merely home ports not groups of ship you travel with.

Like others have said ... learn about the history and find the battles and shipping lanes. RSRD is fairly accurate to dates and ship movements and major battles.

That is how I sank the Yamato in a typhoon on the surface at less than 2000 yards.
