How about this?
I have no connection with the firm but when I received a copy of their catalogue this morning - complete with a picture ofJürgen Prochnow as 'Der Alte' in 'Das Boot' (as a promotion for this product) - I thought I just had to share it . . . |

That´s a nice pice of cloth. But i think it´s to modern for use with a WWII simulator.
When i was at sea with U17 (S196) and U33 (S183) we wore either BEGA-trowsers and t-shirts or the full BEGA-uniform. BEGA stands for: BordEinsatzGefechtsAnzug This cloth are made from leight, nonflammable and acidsave stuff. Realy comftable to wear. When it get wet it drys very fast and its stronger than a well (highpriced) jeans. When i leaved the german navy, i got one of those shirts as a gift from my crewmembers. |

I captain a Type II boat, which is essentially a mobile sauna. I don't believe a long-sleeved wool sweater would be my first choice.
In all honesty though, that looks really nice, I just might pick one up.
