Default Radio reception depth config?

Have an oddity that may be deliberate but I'd like to change it.

I am running "Trigger Maru Overhaul 2.5" and "Carotio Intercontinental Radio Pack" and I've noticed that I can still hear the radio when at periscope depth.

In the vanilla game, the radio fades away VERY shortly after diving, like as soon as you are < 40ft I think.

Does anyone have a clue what controls this? I'm guessing it's something in a config somewhere.

I looked at the radio.ini in the Radio Pack, but it looks normal (RadioRealism=yes and range 100000 for each station)

Good reception is possible at distances of 2,000 to 3,000 miles with the loop submerged not more than 15 to 20 feet.

Which sub are you using? The S class in the game has a bug that lets you hear the radio at much greater depths than the other subs.

I didn't know that it was a S-class thing. The most annoying thing is that if you dive with the radio on, you can't turn if off, until you surface.

I get a 403 fobidden on that link...

EDIT: I tried several different methods, search on the ibiblio home page, browse to the hyperwar in the catalog, all gave a 403, so I used the website form and sent an email. Hopefully they will fix it - it appears to be a nice resource.

I jumped into the school and took a porpoise out. Sure enough, radio fades away as I expected. So it's the S boat radio bug, which heretofore was unknown to me.

Thanks!
