TMO's traffic is about 50% historical, but enough so that it matters, so much depends on your start date and base. Planes will only bomb you if they see you.

Default Gotcha

Yeah was in the Narwhal which takes like 2weeks to dive. Been using my Sargo for about the last hour or so and still no traffic but I haven't been out to bombers alley either. It dives in about 1min.30sec ish. Narwhal dive is like 2mins plus. So I would have more of a chance getting out off bomb aoe. Guess I am just used to the old 1.5 traffic.

Default still waiting....

Well I am not sure that TMO is for me there is just not enough traffic even in areas that would have traffic. I have been at it for 4 hours and not fired a single torp. Thinking this mod is abit to real for me. Don't get me wrong I think its a great mod but I think its lacking in targets. I mean I understand its a simulation game but there has to be some fun factor to as well not just staring at the map and way points and eyeballing the fuel gauge.

I gave it a go I may try more later but this little session has almost taken the fun out of the game for me...

TMO is just fine...

When you cruise the lanes it doesn't mean you'll find a vessel every hour of every day... one or two every other day is more likely.

I encounter so many single merchants in it, I run out of fish before I hit the motherload

You just need to find the sweet spots, they are all over the place.

Real skippers didn't see ships every day out to see either. You can also add Run Silent Run Deep will will add somewhat better and accurate traffic lanes to the Japanese merchants. I find it a very good addition.
