I don't have Win8.1 myself, but not installing into the default location the Program Files folder still holds well I believe.
As for SH5, I suggest you provide a bit more information about how or what goes wrong when you run SH5. And post it in the appropriate forum section. |

I installed a full SH3, GWX, JSGME ,Mods and SHcommander only a couple of weeks ago.
Just make sure its a clean installation and put it into a folder on its own. DO NOT allow it to instal in the designated C drive folder. I put mine into its own folder in the D drive. Runs perfectly. Here's how for W8 Clean install (own folder outside automatic folder designation by your PC) Do not run the game Run 1.4 patch Do not run game Set up JSGME Do not run game Set up SH Commander Go for it Captain Thats for DVD in the reader, for running without the DVD in the drive you will need to add the SH3 cracks in at the stage before 1.4 patch upgrade. Sink em all....... Last edited by Johnfb; 02-01-14 at 07:04 AM. |

I have no experience with Mac OS either. But what folder path did you try do put it in then? Maybe you tried another place that happens to be restricted by Microsoft.
Usually I just replace the \Program Files\Ubisoft\ part with \Games\ in the path specification text box. As I don't mind it is in the C-drive. Or potentially you need to create the folder manually on the drive, instead of letting the installation software do it. |
