Default Thinking of starting again with SH5

After 18 months off (on Train Simulator 2013) I think I might install SH5 on this PC (it's new). Is there an easy way to get it all updated and latest patch after I've installed it ? I remember there were loads of bugs in it but I loved it.
I arent into mods and stuff, just latest updates. Is it the 1.1.5 patch on the Ubisoft site ?

1.2 patch is current and probably last official patch. Without the .exe patcher, sh5 is bugged on anything but arcade mode. Sortof the same thing goes for playing without mods I'm affraid.

I suggest you look up the suggested modlists, ann strongly suggest you at least use the .exe patcher. Else your stadimeter, hydrophone and other stuff will not work at all or not correctly.

Some subsimmers have reported NOT to enable the advanced features in TDW patcher. They cause CTDs. I have not either. Smooth sailing!

You said you didnt want mods, and then everyone told you where to get mods :P So I wil answer your actual question:

If you have the Steam version Steam will update you to 1.2.

If you have the DVD copy of the game it auto-updates to 1.2 when you launch the game.

No manual patching should be required!!

Welcome back to SH5. Be advised that this game only achieves about 50% of its potential without mods, particularly the equipment upgrade fix and the New UIs.
