Mod Help!

I downloaded U-Boat Missions/v1.5 from Steam today and it installed just fine. I then installed JGME with no issues. I put it in my SH4 folder per instructions. I then began downloading some mods that I wanted, and put them in the JGME "MODS" folder. From there I activated the mods (assuring none were incompatible prior to activation), and fired up SH4. To my confusion, none of the mods are working.

Did I miss a step?

somebody with more knowledge than me will be along shortly, but in the meantime, What OS are you using? Do you have SH4 installed in your Programs folder or is it installed in the root directory - If it isn't then it ought to be. JSGME ought to be in your main game directory as should your MODS folder, so the filepath for any mods you want to install ought to be something like C:\SH4\MODS\[name of mod]

I had a similar problem when I loaded the game on to this machine, and for the life of me I can't remember how I fixed it, but I seem to recall it was centred on my MODS directory being in the wrong place.

Anyway, hope you get it sorted soon - Once you play the modded game you'll never go back

I'm using Windows 8. The file path is through Steam, but I have now placed both the JSGME application and MODS folder into the main directory so it's SH4/MODS, etc. I tried to start it up again and still no success.

I know nothing about steam - does that mean you cant reinstall the game into the root directory?

I have a clean, unmodded version of the game on my D drive that I use for multi-installs - I can't imagine why this wouldn't work with your version, but as I say I know nothing about steam....

Make a new folder in your root directory - Open your sh4 folder and copy all of the files into the new folder [name it for the supermod you're using] Then run through the JSGME file snapshot/mod installation again and see if that does anything - it might not work, but I can't see it doing harm....

I got it to work! Just had to remove then add the mods again into the new directory.

Oh God TMO looks GLORIOUS.
