Default "Dihydrogen monoxide? Coming out of MY faucet?" - It's more common than you think.

Quote:
Florida country radio morning-show hosts Val St. John and Scott Fish are currently serving indefinite suspensions and possibly worse over a successful April Fools' Day prank. They told their listeners that "dihydrogen monoxide" was coming out of the taps throughout the Fort Myers area.

...

"My understanding is it is a felony to call in a false water quality issue," Diane Holm, a public information officer for Lee County, told WTSP

I usually hate April Fools Day stuff, but this one a real eye roller on the part of the city. Diane Holm may take her job just a little too seriously.

I guess those people don't remember basic chemistry. Or maybe they're just idiots?

I think that's it. They're just idiots.

it is just an example of how using uncommon scientific terms can make the most common things sound scary.

Did I ever tell you about the time I had acute nasal pharyngitis?

The doctors said there was no cure.

I survived.. somehow. But for the rest of my life I am afflicted with vasomotor rhinitis.

And the frickin government won't give me disability claiming that I don't "qualify". How is that for discrimination?

Some how I doubt the charge will stick, as they didn't say anything false.. they basicly told their listeners that water was coming out of their taps.

So now it's a felony to tell people there's water coming from their taps.

I'd like to see Ms Holm at the court hearing so I could laugh her out of the building along with the judge. Sarah Palin has a sister?
