Default Quick question

Hello! I've been interested by this game for a little while but never dared to make the jump from Silent Hunter to Dangerous Waters.

The main reason behind that is that, in Silent Hunter, I don't mind having only a few submarines to play with, even if there are differences, the ships at this time were quite similar.

Nowadays its way more different and I'd feel bad only to be able to play 1 surface vessel.

Before buying I'd like to know if, between all the mods (RA, stuff like that) if there are any modifications capable of making all the ships (or almost) playable?

I'd really like to be able to pickout a Lafayette Cruiser or a Monstrose (Yeah, I'm an European!) and the problem is that I don't even know if these ships are included in the game.

If anybody could tell me a little more about the game it'd be great! Thank you!

RA adds a bunch of playable platforms but I never found it stable and the models are bad.

The Stock game itself is flatout amazing. I highly recommend it. But, there isn't a mod out there that makes all the ships playable. RA and Alfa Tau (i think) are the closest you will come to it. They both add a few platforms.

WELCOME TO SUBSIM AND HAPPY HUNTING!!!

Hey, thank you for your answer! As the game is only at 15 bucks I decided to go and get it but I'm a bit lost.

As you're already playing, what huge mods would you recommand me taking? Knowing that I'd like to be able to play with French Ships, I'd also be glad if you knew any mod allowing to play one! I can't find any difference between AT, RA and the Lthingy one.

Thank you!

LWAMI expands the weapons and A.I. Platforms. It adds a bunch of A.I. stuff.

AT and RA don't work in the way you are wanting them to. I don't think there is a mod out there that will let you play French Ships. You want to ask about that in the DW Mods thread. If I were you, I would get used to the stock game first before trying any mods. This game has a heck of a learning curve. I still don't fully know everything about how to play it.

If I were you, I'd check out LWAMI. RA i tried and while it did add playable platforms, the models were bad and the game was unstable. I looked for a fix, but I just didn't like the way it was done. I don't recommend it to anybody....

So try DW stock v1.04 with LWAMI installed. That's my recommendation.
