Quick save?

It's been years since I have played Silent Hunter (2, I think) so I am a complete noob while I try to get the key commands straight. I just got SH 3 from steam and can not remember how to save my game. I like to save often so I won't loose the whole mission if I have to stop playing. (real life sometimes comes at a bad time!) Any help will be welcome.

Press the ESC key. That will pause the game and bring up the OPTIONS screen that allows you to SAVE, CONTINUE, EXIT PATROL, or SAVE & EXIT.

For an in-game save, Select SAVE,
Enter the name for the save, and press SAVE.
A message appears "game saved successfully". Press OK
To return to the game, select Continue

To save and end the game, select SAVE & EXIT
Enter the name for the save and press SAVE
A message appears "game saved successfully". Press OK

As stated above except you have to press SAVE twice.

OK, I was doing the tutorial missions and those options weren't available. I got it now.
