Default DUD torpedos

Hi,

Playing with those mods http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=201004 when activating DUD torpedos in the option screen, i have them...but every time it's the whole sub torpedos load wich is DUD!!
Imagine far away in the Atlantic, and have to come home to reload all torpedos!

In fact i never had only one. Always all...
Is it a bug or something?
Or a mod issue?

EDIT: with the generic patcher, i have enabled the DUD torpedos option too...

Generic patcher..... Maybe that's why all are duds seeing you ticked duds in the game Options too.

I have duds set to on in my SH5, and I've not seen one yet in all the time I've been running the sim. Unless you count one hitting a mine. But then again I have the 'Sort of IX Boat mod' installed along with the 'VIIC/41 mod' too. I don't think that would fix dud mines but you never know.

Hmm...so should i try to desable dud torpedos in generic patcher, and keep it on, in game options?

On side note, when all my torpedos are fired and missed because dud, if i reload last save, sometime they explode when hitting boat

Ah, TDW i try to fire almost 90° (but not always exactly) and when they are dud they just explode long before hitting boat!
They never comes to hit the boats...

That's not the dud problem then and that's not my patch causing this. What you are seeing is premature detonations. These are defined in the torpedoes.sim file. To avoid premature detonations:

- don't fire torps in rough seas unless you set the running depth > 3-4m
- don't fire torps in calm seas with a running depth <= 1m

Ok, thanks for the info

Though, if i recall correctly, my torps were set around 4m depth in rough sea, and i never fire <=1m (except vs destroyers at 1.5m)...

If you have my patch enabled for duds then the angle that the torpedo hits the object determines in large part whether it's a dud or not. What angle are your torps hitting the target? Try to get a torpedo to hit 90 degrees to the hull. The dud chance at that angle is really low. What kind of duds are you getting? Does the torp just stop on impact and drop or does it bounce off and keep going?
