Try London to Brighton on the commuter crawl out of Victoria through to about Three Bridges or so. Fortunately the trains that run on that line are designed to have good acceleration and good brakes, to keep to timetable on some of the scenarios I've seen out there you will need both.

I recently got TS13 plus some addons during the sale.

I prefer passenger trains over freight(for the most part) but I still get enjoyment out of running 60 car trains with 4 diesel engines over on Cajun Pass. London to Brighton and West Coast Main Line are pretty good.

I'm planning to get the US pack while it's on sale so I can get Denver Pass with the Amtrak Zephyr, and North East Corridor with the ACELA express. Just so I can get some American passenger trains going.

My wishlist is the Portsmouth Direct Line(love the 4cig's, 444's, and 4VEPs, despite not seeing them in real life), and Cologne to Dusseldorf with the ICE3(I own ICE1 for Ruhr-Sieg line).

Although I have to say, my favorite engines in the game are the Union Pacific Big Boy and the Challenger. Both of them are pure awesome. Although the Big Boy seems to be bugged where the steam pressure gauge doesn't work properly.

Have any of you tried "BVE"? It's a freeware train sim that's kind of like the train version of what Orbiter is. It's not bad.

BVE was great, OpenBVE had promise, but unfortunately about three to four years ago there was a massive schism in the community which lead to a lot of the creative developers removing their work from the internet. The BVE community has never really recovered from it, the great routes like Maybank, and the Northern Line, as well as the great promise of the updated West Coast Main Line route, and Birmingham Cross-city South...well, it's all kind of fizzled out. I imagine the Japanese community is still going strong, but the British one has pretty much died now. A shame, it was good fun.

EDIT: A quick search, out of interest, has shown me that some parts of BVE are still going, the Network West Midlands (the update of the old Maybank route which I mentioned) seems to still be online, as does Steve Greens lovely Northern Line, and some of the old trains that were hosted on Steve Greens site have made their way to BVETMD...so it's not all doom and gloom. I might even be tempted to dust the old girl off and see if I can get it running again.

Just updated to 2014. It is a bit broken for the moment.

That's what you get for having Sean Bean narrating your trailer, the game dies too.

I thought so, when Steam keeps telling me every few minutes that you've just started playing it. Always a sign of a new release.

I've not managed to break it yet, although I haven't done too much with it. The inbuilt consist editor is a nice touch, even if it doesn't generate Quick Drive trains for any trains that the Quick drive menu doesn't recognise, which is a bit of a shame, but hopefully the new workshop upgrades will help fix that.

Really? Crashes on loading a scenario for me. Not the only one apparently.

Sure they'll fix it soon enough though.

* keeps saying 110 files failed to validate every time I check it. Something wonky with Steam perhaps, restart might be in order.

Let me fire up a scenario and test it.

Any particular scenario you're using?
