But is this as important to mankind as is the question: "Ginger or Mary Ann?"...

Regarding the thread topic. They both stink....

But MC Hawking smurfing rulz.

It's rap, so there's non-sailor steve approved language.

Entrophy:

A co-worker had a copy of MC Hawking singing Led Zeppilin's "Whole Lotta Love."

I saw a serious TV program with Mr. Hawking. They only asked him 5 questions, and it took him a week to answer them, but the answers were bright, relevant, and plausible.

He was speaking on solar flairs, and 2012 and all that crap.

I wish I had a link, it was really interesting, I caught it on a show called " The Universe" on the science channel.

All drooling jokes aside, he is a really brilliant man.

He said we are safe. As solar bursts happen alot, but have to be directed at us to do anything. Plus there is that Van Allen belt thing....

Something the Mayans knew nothing about.

The answer to this question is:

Both

Why choose either Ginger or Mary Anne when you can have both?!

I dont really think that soopamans judgment is all fair.If are talking mind to mind i would say they are about equal Hawking has the advantage of having been around later so others have done lots ground work before him.I say that they equals.

Most all of Hawkings work would also have been funded by someone so to say that one had an advantage because they had money "thrown at them" is not fair nor is that term.Serious research is always funded by someone and sometimes by many different sources.

Also Einsteins most major contribution to science the theory of relativity(E=mc2) that paper was published in 1905 long before he immigrated to the US.

Also Hawking did not develop his disease ALS until 1962 of course he must be something truly special because almost no one with ALS has lived more than 10 years so that counts for something.

In jest though, Hawking was awarded an Albert Einstein Medal being awarded a medal named after another clearly implies that you pretty good but not as good as the person the medal is named after therefore Albert Einstein Medal lays the theatrical smack down all over Hawking.

Ouch yeah, good point on the medal Stealhead.

Both were and are pivotal to physics.

Hawkings research may have never came without Einsteins research.

The sharing of information over generations is what makes humans special over animals.

I guess my point was that Hawking is closer to any truths, due to 50 plus years of science in between the two.

I never meant to minimalize Dr. Einstein.

He is and always will be the father of modern theoretical physics, which modeled all similar sciences today.

Well even Albert Einstein had the work of others to go on but as you say one thing leads to another and so on.

Hey you never know for sure with animals they thought for years that bears where not able to purposefully use tools until a brown bear was spotted in Alaska repeatedly using a rock to crush open sea shells. And at one time we where pretty primitive 5,000 years ago we had to hitch rides on the backs of dinosaurs the day after earth was made.
