What you know as a PT boat is an offshoot of the WW1 Thornycroft Coastal Motor Boats.
![]() The original Torpedo Boats date back to the 1880s and were small steel steamships. They were the ancestors of the modern destroyer. This is USS Cushing, America's first Torpedo Boat. ![]()

I doubt that there could be North Korean "fishing ships" in South Korean waters without the participation of the North Korean People's Army and the approval of the Communist party and the leaders of the country.
You can call me paranoid ![]()

Here are some more photos of her showing the damage, the ROK marked the shell holes in red, as you can see she was hit by .50 cal and something heaver maybe 20mm. The bridge was hit by an 85mm round (from a T-34-85's gun turret that was mounted on the DPRK Patrol Boat), I'm guessing some of that damage was repaired before the boat went on display. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() This shows how the attack went down and has photos of the KIAs: ![]() A good article on this battle can be found here: http://rokdrop.com/2012/06/29/dmz-fl...-naval-battle/ |
