I think it is part of the game, assuming that by hammered, you mean you have taken damage? Perhaps your sub took in too much water or too much damage that a controlled surface is impossible due to uncontrollable flooding or damaged planes. Did you try to blow ballast? That gets you to the surface, but uses up a great portion of your compressed air and will leave you vulnerable to said escorts.

i had 0% damage, from Depth Charges, i went to 70 cuz they kept ping'n and zooming in on my posit, but never took damage from any hits, and the boat never leveled out and i ended up crushing @ 264 meters.

Did you use TDW patcher on your executable? Did you apply 1.2 patch? What mods are you using?

im not using any mods, i got it the 1st wk it came out, and havent done anything to it, if i do mods or anything like that ill mess things up,

Plenty bugs remained even in 1.2. So it's hard to predict what caused this anomaly.
