Default 2012-13 Subsim NFL thread (Mayan calendar edition)

Since there will be no Superbowl this year due to World destruction, anything is possible.

So here's my spin on the Mayan interpretation of the 2012 Football season.

(mayan priest costume not included)

The 2 sepent's heads are symbolic of the Tebow-Sanchez connection. Where one will rise and the other will be sacrificed to the Namath God.

The Mayans foresaw the return of MoJo.

The Mayans also foretold of a man-king mowing his lawn in black socks, who wil be the future leader of the Oakland Texans (other interperations include the Houston Raiders).

Since we're talkin' Texas teams, The Mayan god of Thunder, represented here:

will crash through the walls of the Eastern Empire to victory. And the queen of the Eastern Empire will be happy cuz Tom can spend more time with her now.

Megatron will devour the cheezheadz and turn Rodgers into a fancy nacho sauce.

The bearz still suck.

Starting timer now to see how long it takes before the vikes wear out Peterson...

T.O. is homeless in Seattle.

Thread is WIP atm.

No matter how bad it gets for Ryan Tannehill this season with that gahdawful Miami team, I won't feel sorry for him because he gets to go home to this:

Well, that pretty much sums it all up then.

You are correct
Good catch. That's what I get for writing this at work.

Good lord, the Jets!

I am a professional Tebow smasher, and was kinda impressed. He is a big boy, and as much as I kill him, a nice fella IRL.

Early in the first quarter, they played a wildcat, Tebow behind center, and Sanchez lined up as a wide out, he (Sanchez) utterly flattened the cornerback, I was impressed.

Mind you it was Buffalo.

Ughhh, Joe Buck is calling the Niner game. I may put on the SF radio feed.

And the game starts with 2 really bad calls by the replacement refs... An Illegal block to the back, called on the wrong player, and an unsportsmanlike conduct when the quarterbacks foot knocked some guys helmet loose.

I saw some questionable things with the Jets game, as well as the Redskins game. Goodell needs to stop being such a cheapskate, as these crap calls over the course of time will make this sport a mockery like baseball has become.

Yeah the Pack are struggling. They look out of sync on both sides of the ball....

http://www.usatoday.com/story/gameon...yards/1619289/

Quote:
10:56PM EST October 7. 2012 - On Sunday, the San Francisco 49ers became the first team in NFL history to have more than 300 yards rushing and passing in the same game.
Alex Smith passed for 303 yards and a combination of Frank Gore, Kendall Hunter and others ran for 311 more in the Niners' 45-3 victory over the Buffalo Bills.
If "first time in NFL history" didn't provide the proper perspective, maybe these five stats will help:
• No team rushed for more than 300 yards in a single game last season. Only two teams did it in 2010. In the past two decades, the team 300-yard rushing barrier has been surpassed 26 times.
• San Francisco's 621 yards is tied for the 15th-highest total in league history. The 1951 Los Angeles Rams have the record with a 722-yard game against the New York Yanks. The 49ers total is the fourth highest in the past 30 years.
• Prior to Sunday, Alex Smith had thrown for over 300 yards in a game just twice in his career. It took him until his 38th start to accomplish the feat.
• Last week agains the New England Patriots, the Bills became the second team in NFL history to allow a 300-yard passer, two 100-yard receivers and two 100-yard rushers. The team is the first since that infamous early-1950s New York Yanks defense to allow more than 550 yards in back-to-back games.
• The last time a team had more than 275 yards passing and rushing in the same game was in 1988 when the Washington Redskins threw for 322 and rushed for 280 in Super Bowl XXII.
So the scrutiny last year was, that the 49ers had a weak offense. I think that din can die down now.

Respect the Red and Gold or the kid gets it!
