Default Nautical Map Project

I really miss a nautical map from the Silent Hunter family. It would boost the game experience severely. I know it's a big project but if a modder would feel the call I can assist him with the hack-work .

I don't think about a precise IRL maritime map but an ingame map with depths, warnings.

Thank you for your consideration!

Mod: If you can give me ideas how to make a filter to the ingame map, that would be a good start. Next I think I need to somehow extract the depths. If this is impossible please tell me, this is just a theory.

Sounds like a great idea. I wish I could help but I'm no mad maker by any means.

If SH5 could be changed to play like SH3 the grid map would be great. Still great even if not. At least we'd know where the hell we are out there. LOL Using lattitude/longitude in SH5 is a Royal PITA and not as it was done in real life.... the eneny would know where to find you quicker.

The SH4-UBM dual map was best of all. As you zoomed in the grid coordinates did too, so you went from AE to AE33 to AE334 to AE3347. It's perfect.

I have no idea. It would be great if it could.
