Haven't been playing SH5 much but have just picked it up again...using Darkwraiths UI and was wondering...I can target a ship { asking the chap to follow target } I can also get the SOAN....but for the life of me I cant get the range or speed..could anyone post an idots guide to getting a firing solution from just after sending the mast height to TDC please

The key is to lock target. Then you get a little conversation box open with your XO. Click on the range in the conversation box, then click use stadi, or manual range, something like that. That's how you get the range. You can either identify the target first, or you can manually put in the mast height with the scroll wheel.
For the speed, now what I do is I take 2 ranges. I clock 3 minutes between ranges. Then I measure the distance between the contacts. After that I take the distance/180 (3 minutes is 3 times 60 seconds) and then you multiply that number with 2. You can use the U-jagd chrono (U-boat stopwatch) Or you can get the crew, your XO to shout out. The first two methods are better for me personally. If you enable navigator assist in the options file then the navigator will call out the contacts speed after you take the second range reading (provided the AOB you input into the TDC AOB dial is correct)

EDIT: Must be me being a bit thick lol, I have tried all that but no longer can I get the stadimeter up to measure range...all I have is send mast height to TDC, then I select WEPS, order for find solution in the orders bar..nothing happens ![]() ![]() I also dont get the XO box appearing on screen at all { it is set to true in the options file } HAHA FOUND IT...just found the stadimeter icon next to the range dail lol..back in business..thanks for the help folks!
