Grandpa says bookstore kicked him out for shopping alone in children's section

Omar Amin, 73, said store worker Todd Voris told him that a female shopper had complained about him being in the children's area May 4 in the store at Shea Boulevard and Loop 101 in Scottsdale.

Amin, who was alone at the time, said he was in Barnes & Noble to buy books for his two grandchildren who live in Wisconsin.

The story's since been updated with Barnes & Noble apologizing and saying this should not have happened.

But still...has the world gone freaking pedo crazy? What's it say about us as a society and parents today when the most innocent of things....a grandfather shopping for his grandkids...is seen as a boogeyman?

Seriously? A grandfather can't find books for his kids in this day and age. Paranoia is rising no matter where you go. What would have happened if this was say a 30-40 year old father looking for books for his kids?

What he should have done is to present his grandchild and said now explain to them why I was kicked out and unable to buy them a book.

Of course, the entire ugly incident easily could have been avoided had Grandpa simply remembered to put on pants.
