Hi all,
I've decided to get back into SH4 after some time away. Unfortunately, I can't seem to install. When I install the game, I get the UbiSoft product activation window. Trying my serial number (which always worked in the distant past) gets me the following message: "Activation FAILED: server error - wrong/invalid serial number" I own my copy through Direct2Drive, which has been absorbed by another service called Gamefly. (Surely someone in marketing should have realized that Flies are not viewed positively? I digress.) Supposedly, old D2D purchases should still be functional. Is that not the case? Thanks for any advice! |

I know they took a while to get round to migrating Ka-50 on to their new servers (that is the only D2D game I've got), it may be that SH4 is the same.
I don't know where you are, but here in the UK there is only SH5 showing for sale. I know that Ka-50 wasn't available until it showed up. In the US it's showing 4 and 5 as available. ![]()

To see if the game will install anyway? Second question are you using the right activation key it should start with Example of the one I have: SH4-****-****-****-**** The other key is for D2D and is much longer. Another thing you can try is to do a copy / past find the key an do a Ctrl+C then when it comes to the input screen do a Ctrl+V. I'm contacting Gamefly to see if they can help me. I noticed on the Ubisoft site that they are "closed for Good Friday," so perhaps their servers are just down. I don't know. |

Direct 2 Drive has always been a problem for me when I reinstall my original 1.0 CD, then try the "activation" through D2D again for the U-Boat Missions Add-on. Every time I've needed to call customer support and explain what I'm doing. Every time their happy to reset the activation thingy (I don't know what they do, I just know they have to reset something) and I'm good-to-go with the activation process the next time I try.
Call customer support.
