Default Back to Scapa 22/03/2012

Back to Scapa 22/03/2012
I sank some british ships of the eastern british waters and had a reasonably good patrol . On the way back to Willhelmshaven i decided to accept a mission to raid scapa flow . I am heading back to refuel and i am out of torpedoes . My hull has been damaged and at around 79% effective . I dont have time to drydock because i have to be at scapa by the 15th of october and it is the 2nd already . Unfortunately heavy fog has set in and the navigator has us slightly lost (using real navigation) . He cannot do a celestial reckoning and can only do dead reckoning . Unfortunately the more times in a row he does the dead reckoning without celestial the more lost we get . heavy fog for 2 days and i have been trying to find Helgoland port for 12 hours now , going around in circles .

Because there are so many enemy at scapa you have to enter at night and preferably with no moon and medium fog . You cannot go periscope depth because of mines and sub nets . Thanks for nothin Trevally for making it realistic I had medium fog entering scapa but unfortunately half way thru the fog lifted and the full moon came up . It was like half daylight and its a new career again for me .

No light
No Moon
Thick fog
Can't dive
narrow channels
Mines
Sub nets
Rocky outcrops
No navigation
Lots of angry RN DDs and fast patrol boats

Ok - here is the plan

Funny you should mention rocky outcrops . If someone could make a GR2 rocky outcrop with TDW editor and make it collisionable and viewable from below and above the water . I could place them strategically around the place . If it was made from an existing ship that had the avoidance so that other ships would avoid it .
