Default I have it working in W7

Just an FYI for nubes like me. I installed it into my windows 7 and used the default install options and it seems to work fine for me. Custom settings didn't stick but I went into C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Silent Hunter Wolves of the Pacific\Data\Cfg and opened it with note pad and set the settings there and all seems well so far. Happy hunting!

Does anyone know if SH3 will work? Thinking I might pick it up again.

Yep, I have 3, 4, and 5 all installed in default locations and working fine. Try not to pick up an old starforce riddled copy of 3. I have UAC disabled so I get no annoying pop-up black screens, but only recommend if you're hot on security by other means, otherwise install in different location to default.

Thanks Herr-Berbunch I'll grab a new copy off 3 off an on line retailer. I really want to try GWX3 GOLD. I hope you don't mind if I ask you a question; Do you fill up all your crew slots? I don't remember being able to have all these guys just for damage control before. I thought we had to put guys on DC from other stations.

I'd recommend purchasing through the Subsim Amazon link so Onkel Neal gets a (very small) percentage.

As for crew, I can't remember - it's been too long since I last played

"purchasing through the Subsim Amazon link"

Will do have a good one.

Just had a weird patrol, rudder stopped responding but showed no damage... had to exit out and I had just sank a fleet carrier for the first time ever in the silent hunter series.

Yep, fortunately subsim has a lovely helo/flight sim section.

I still keep in touch, but really should make more of an effort to dive back in to 3, and do more than the tutorial in 5.
