Music volume question ...

is there a way to control the volume of the music

There's times I would like to increase and theres times I'd like it a little lower and if it's possible please let me know how to perform the duty

Sure, in the options screen. Go there from the main menu and then you should find sound options in there. In the soundlevel settings you have to twist the knobs to set the deciBell levels. -3 dB is halve (50%) of the maximum intensity, -6 is a quarter (25%) of it, -9 is one eigth (1/8; 12.5%) of the maximum intensity. The maximum down setting is -40 dB, which is 0.01% of maximum (100%)

During playing you cannot change it.

Actually you can, sort of. At least you don't have to wait until the end of the patrol. Exit the career. Load up any Single Mission. It will give you access to the Options Menu. There you can change the parameters, and they will take effect over the whole game, including your career. No just load up your gamesave and you're good to go.
