Default Less Plankton

The Less Plankton mod reduces the appearance of floating clumps of plankton in all underwater views. The plankton is still visible so the ocean doesn't look like a crystal clear swimming pool, but it should be much less distracting.

Less Plankton is JSGME ready and should be compatible with most other mods. It's a simple graphics change, so you do not need to be in port before activating.

Please feel free to use and edit this mod for your own use or combine with other mods.

Two separate download locations: Subsim and CloudApp.

After patrolling for a little while today, I'm thinking I didn't get rid of enough plankton. Maybe it still looks a little too thick, especially at night. On the other hand, I don't want the water to look sterilized.

What do you think?

Edit: I updated this to version 1.2. Now the plankton is barely visible during the day, but doesn't seem so thick at night. I think it's a good compromise.

Yes, those are very good mods for anybody who wants the plankton completely gone. The screenshot above was made with RFB's scene.dat, modified with the 300' visibility info from Webster's mod. Thanks.

I like seeing the plankton, so the water looks full of life. I just don't want to see so much of it.

Be gone ya tiny pest!

MR KRABS! USS KRABS my latest submarine USS Krabs captain Eugene H. Krabs!

I was chef on the SS Diarrhea! We've gotten rid of the Plankton on the ship!

Is it gonna steal the TDC Secret Blueprints and give them to the Japanese?

I have the Krabby Patty Secret Formula for Tokyo!

Krabs is the captain of the boat! XO SpongeBob and Squidward as third in command! Down Krusty Krab! Squidward is thrown overboard like Martin G. Pascal onto a fishing net! "PATRICK" "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING?"

"What's the matter Squidward? It still tastes like cream corn." "EXCEPT IT'S DEVILED HAM!"

"YOU FORGOT LIKE AN IDIOT PATRICK?" "I WANT THESE CANS REARRANGED REGULATION-STYLE BY 11:00. DO YOU KNOW WHAT TIME 11:00 IS?"

"THAT WOULD BE AFTER 10:00 SIR!"

"SQUIDWARD!" (KRABS YELLS AT SQUIDWARD.)

SQUIDWARD SAYS "THIS CREW IS THE MOST INCOMPETENT BUNCH OF MORONS AND BARNACLES I HAVE HAD THE DISPLEASURE OF WORKING WITH!"

"DO YOU THINK THIS IS THE CAREER I DREAMED ABOUT?" "WELL YOUR CAREER IS IN THE HANDS OF THOSE VERY "BARNACLES!" INCLUDING "THIS ONE!"

PLANKTON IS ADMIRAL PLANKTON (ADMIRAL GRAHAM PARODY)

" I DO NOT THINK THAT IS GOOD POLICY FOR THE RESTAURANT INDUSTRY TO HAND OVER A MILLION DOLLAR SUBMARINE TO A CRUSTACEAN THAT HAS "WELCOME ABOARD" TATTOOED ON HIS CARAPACE!"

I COULD GO ON! ANYMORE PLANKTON JOKES YOU GUYS HAVE?
