I have SH3 with GWX 3 Gold installed on my notebook (ASUS UL80Vt, 1.3 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo overclocked to 1.73 GHz, 4 GB DDR3 ram, Nvidia G210M with 512 MB DDR3 and an OCZ Agility 60 GB SSD).
Everyone should buy a SSD. It loads the game in 27 seconds, loads a campaign in about 1 minute 40 seconds. My computer, although technically below minimums on the CPU, has no problem running SH3. I am averaging about 60 - 70 fps. except when I am on 1024 TC. Just wish the full width of my widescreen could be utilized, it is 1366 x 768. Small price to pay, I have not played SH3 in about 5 years, totally enjoying the Grey Wolves expansion. Cheers, madkiwi |

Nice load times. I'm a little surprised your FPS is so high on your clock speed but happy to hear it all the same. Hope you enjoy GWX and thanks for the report!

Sounds interesting. I'll be checking it out. Took me a minute to figure out what you were talking about. I had to look up 'SSD' just to find out what it was.

Even at stock speed the Core 2 Duo is 4 times faster. Roaming the ocean looking off the bridge my framerates are somewhere around 140 fps. It only drops to 50-60 in the middle of a convoy. Clock rates for newer CPUs don't mean much, especially trying to compare to older generations. |
