Default 3 vs. 5

Hi All.

Like many, I loved SH3, but afraid of getting 5 because it was just too immature.

I know there are LOTS of old 3 vs. 5 theads, so I'll be more specific rather than asking which is better (apples or oranges).

Most of the 3 vs. 5 threads are about a year old and 5 wasn't very mature then. Are things different now? People promissed a year ago 5 will get better. Let ask these specific things.

Can I say, SH5 is like SH3, but with better graphics and Win 7 support? With things added, NOT removed?
Or the games are still very different. The only way to know if I like 5 is to just buy it and play it?

Also, is the online registration/activation still required?

thanks!

Welcome Aboard enewmen!

For SH5, so developing the game all the time and that goes for SH4 and SH3 and you sure have noticed that there are quite a lot of information about the games, so take the time to "sniff" out what you think is right for you.

Thanks for the post!

Yes, all the sub-sims keep improving. This makes asking what they are like a moving target.
From your post, SH3 seems like a very different game than SH3 - even after lots of patches.
Anyway, I bought a $10 copy of SH5 at ebay. Then I can try it myself.
I think after playing that a while, the SH5 posts will make more sense.

I think you'll see that SH5 is great fun. I think you'll also see the potential it has if more people help in polishing this rough diamond.
