Default Another 'how to' - parameters for torpedoes

Hi all - I'm having difficulty changing the parameters for torps.
Example; in the 688i I go to the weapons control panel (F6) and I have a torp in a tube. I click the (P)arameters button but all my 'run to enable', 'ceiling' etc are greyed-out and the green 'acoustics', 'search pattern' ovals are green and I can't change them either.

So how do I set these parameters please?

Thanks

If I remember correctly I also was unable to change the torpedo presets if I didn't fully classify the contact as hostile, or giving it a class. But maybe that was just (being unable to ) assigning a torpedo to a target.

IIRC classification only affects engage menus in the map.

Thanks for that help!
I'm struggling with missiles though - on the last campaign mission in the 688i I'm tasked to destroy the Ningpo Naval Base (and damage the shipyards next to it) but even if I launch ALL my TLAM's against the Naval Base it only goes to like 54% damage

Try some searching, it was discussed many times here. I don't recall it in much detail. One of the tricks was to mark the target and promote it to link, nearby allied vessels will help with their own barrage. And it's also all about precision of the target fix.

I had the same problem, the target is not pre-defined in the map and even if you manually imput the target, the tomahawks won't kill it even if the hit a hair-string away from the actual location. I could not finish this mission no matter how much I tried and I was forced to use the "show truth" layer, which I hate to use.
