Just wondering, Has Ubisoft changed the angle for when Torps just bounce of the target from SH3?.. I've just taken the leap from SH3 to SH4 and i've noticed torps still making impact even on angles that SH3 torps would simply bounce off.
Just wondering anyway, Makes it easier if you're slightly off course. ![]() Devilz. ****EDIT**** Also, is there any advantages/disadvantages in keeping the same sub?.. I've edited my porpoise to my liking and it's gonna be annoying to have to edit another sub to change it. Opinions welcomed. ![]() Last edited by Devilz; 04-21-11 at 12:34 PM. |

You talking about angle of impact or when the torp arms. As far as angles, any angle will work, with MK14's some angle is desired.
Torp needs an average of 450 yards to arm, depends some on mods. |

Ahh thanks for that.. I completely forgot about arming range.. I always thought the angle I was firing my torp from was causing the deflection but you could be right... Hmm I'll have to remember that.
Cheers. |

Yeah, I've had shots at close to 10° that still detonated on impact.

I suppose there is not much of a downside to keeping the same sub though with an older model like your Porpoise you are much more limited in several areas especially if you are playing with TMO.
First your class sub is much slower than later models which is going to limit you in general.Later models like the Gato are about 3-4 knots faster at speed and have much better range which means more ship sinking ability. Also you'll be more limited in how much time you can spend at sea. Another down side is your torpedo loadout the Porpoise has only 6 tubes total 4 fore and 2 aft and a total of 16 fish. The Salomon class gives you two more tubes and 20 fish. The Sargo class is about he same but is the peak of this design range it is actually one of my favorite boats. The Tambor/Gar and Gato class all give you 6 fore and 4 aft tubes and 24 or so fish so more sinking ability. The last area would be max depth the Gato class can go much deeper than the Porpoise which can make a difference as the war progresses and the IJN gets better at hunting you(in TMO at least). If you realy like the Porpoise class I'd try a Sargo class sub they are pretty good over all assuming you dont want a larger class like a Tambor or Gato. Or if you want even more challenge you should try an S-boat they make the Porpoise class look like a hot rod we are talking basically WWI tech with an S-Boat. Or you can always play several careers with different types of boats. What do you mean by "edited" anyway? |
