G'day all
I'm planning to buy Fleet Command on Steam and give it a play. I have a quad-core, an Nvidia GTX260 and run vista 32. Will I need to run a glide wrapper to get this latest version to work on my PC? Also, anything else I need to know? Install outside Program Files folder for example? Will I be able to run mods and custom missions with the steam version? Thanks in advance for replies smith |

You could use the nGlide 3dfx emulator, but its easier just press Ctrl+v to toggle radar coverage, this will make the game run nice and smooth on all Gpu's. If your a Vista\Window 7 user the Steam version is probably the one best to go for. I've got all the versions of FC and (Vista\W7) its the best one in my opinion for these OS's. You won't have any problems with modding it or using mods, if you do just ask me and I will help you out. ![]()

Thanks for the advice. The Ctrl-V certainly smooths the gameplay, but I'm getting regular black flashes (like the screen switching on and off) during gameplay, and terrible flashing after a few seconds in all the menu screens.
Any hints greatly appreciated. I have switched VSync on in Nvidia Control Panel for Fleet Command exe and the Steam Launch exe. thanks smith |

No probs. ![]() This can be cause by lots of things, here are some things you can do. Update your GPU driver and Microsoft DirectX. Turn off all back-round programs, close all open windows, switch to best performance on the Visual Effects setting, turn off all desktop gadgets, disable Aero and Window search, do not have the task manger running went playing FC. Turn off your Internet Security Protection Software, but I would recommended that you disable your net connection if you do this. I had this problem on a Sony Vaio with a nVidia 8600, and the above fixes will help you with the terrible flashing, but you will stil get it on the main menu. ![]()
