Default First Aircraft Down Over Libya F-15E

Footage on BBC News shows it to be a Lakenheath bird 91-0304 both Crew ejected and are ok.

Both the aircrew are with the rebels but the problem is....how to recover or destroy the sensitive kit on board?

Either way...how can it be done...Special Forces or bombing from the air?

The first time?
I read that f15s have never been killed in combat before

I recall a few F-15Es were also shot down by surface fire during the Gulf War.

I've read that myself somewhere but never looked further into it....and this bugga surely has come down but probably due to mechanical failure.

I'm just pleased both aircrew are okay and haven't been killed.

Looking at the pics, there doesn't appear to be much sensitive equipment left at all!

Prolly right but scavengers have been known to come across the odd golden nugget before.

I was mechanical failure from what I heard.
