Default Question about the officer images in the Crew Management screen

I currently use a mod I made using real officer photos in the crew management screen. and the problem I have is that of the five officers in my Type VIIB I have 2 sets of identical twins

Does anyone know whether ths selection of images for crew management is hardcoded or might there be a file somewhere that could be edited to allow for a greater selection of photo's in the ofaces folder to increase the randomness of the selection?

The images for the officers 'on the boat' can be set via the index value in the crew_config file.

The index for the ofaces folder is as follows:

Index1 = Off12

Index2 = Off13

Index3 = Off14

Index4 = Off21

Index5 = Off22

Index6 = Off23

Index7 = Off24

Index8 = Off31

Index9 = Off32

Index10 = Off33

Index11 = Off34

Index12 = Off11

The actual crew data looks like this:

[CREW_MEMBER_0]
Name=Peter Donitz
Index=2 <-----------Change this value to assign different image
NrComp=0
Type=2
Grad=6
Renown=1001.000000

If you're starting a new patrol, the crew_config files are found in the SH3\data\Cfg folder. There are three files for each boat type, each corresponding to an early, mid or late war start. (i.e. if you start in 1939 or 1940 only file one is accessed).

Once the patrol is underway, the files in \MyDocuments\SH3\data\cfg\Careers are the only ones read.

If I understood the question correctly, this should help...

Hope it tosses the twins overboard!

Thanks for that mate, it certainly helps me get rid of the twins but I wonder if it would be possible to add additional index numbers and references to additional images to lessen the possibility of repeating images without having to edit the Crew config files>

Interesting thought. I don't know, but I think I will experiment a bit. It would be fun to add any face you want to the officer's faces.
