Default I can has Bismarck?

So after doing a search of the forum and the download areas, I can't find mods allowing one to set sail aboard the Bismarck, though I've seen other people mention doing so. What mod do I need for GWX 3.0 to rain 15 inch heck down upon hapless merchantmen and the tincans that love them?

You could try out Chinese U-47's SH3 Warship Mod.

I have not used this mod at all but IIRC it does give you playable surface warships including the Bismarck. The thread for it is here:

http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=146587

You can read through it all, but I'm guessing some of the links in the earliest pages are dead... go to the last page and then bounce yourself back a bit to where the 2010 posts start, there should be a more recent link in there plus instructions for using the mod.

Again, I have never used this so can't provide any first-hand info. But it does appear people are still using it so if you post questions at the end of that thread you may get a better response. Good luck!

Edit: And as usual, I find what I need minutes after asking. Thank you again, frau kaleun!

Thank you again, frau kaleun. I started going through the instruction outlined in a late post, but I cannot figure out where I am to find WSM3.0. Here are the instructions as posted for anyone else interested in the mod.

1. Install the latest version of JSGME

2. Extract the folder WSM3.0 [not 'WSM3.0SH3V1.4' !] from the archive into the MODS folder of your SH3 installation.

3. Navigate to folder ...\Your SH3 Installation Folder\MODS\WSM3.0\ , cut the included MODS folder and paste it into ...\Your SH3 Installation Folder\ by confirming the 'overwrite query'.

4. Enable WSM3.0 in JSGME [and the subsequent mods GeI, GeII or GeIII if you want -> have a look into the readme...].

5. SINK THEM ALL !!!

Did you try this link, from post #232 in that thread? That one looks like it might still be good, I think the author of the post has been compiling and archiving updated links for a lot of different mods so give it a try.

Looks like there are versions for both GWX and the stock game.

No, I went through the search menu and tried different strings and followed various links until I came up with this page and it's link to the file I needed:

Oops!

Just blame it on Bernard, nobody here will dispute it.
