Default Geforce GT430

im tired of not being able to play SH5, or Starcraft II or even MW2 on anything higher then absolute lowest settings possible.

Im a budget gamer, so i cant spend 300 bucks on a godlike graphics card, so i delved into Nvdia's website and got This

http://www.compusa.com/applications/...#exchange_info

Its a dual slot

I have made a thread a couple months back asking similiar things, but the graphics card i was planning to buy started to seem......underpowered to me.

I Want desperately to play my games i dropped hundreds of bucks for on Maxed if not High graphics

My most graphics intense games that i own are Silent Hunter 5, Starcraft II, Battlestations Pacific, and Modern Warfare 2.

Ive found the PSU ill need, a 550 Ultra LSP with 30 Amps on the 12V rail and 32 Amps on the 5V rail.

I am not about to drop 80 bucks on a product that isnt compatible/cant perform. so i need your help, once again, to see if THIS is the one who can play Starcraft II, SH5, MW2, and Battlestations Pacific on Maxed settings and is compatible with my motherboard and can fit in my tower.

Here are my specs once again:
http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/show...1&postcount=15

and the specs of the PSU im planning to get as well.http://www.compusa.com/applications/...IN#ReviewStart

Sorry for bringing the subject back u, but i had doubts....

P.S: If you need some motherboard detail, this is it:

I wouldn't bother with the 430. It's firmly placed at the entry-level, meaning you can't count on it to run anything maxed.

And that PSU seems like a bad joke to me. Modern PC draws most of it's power from the 12v rail, so what the heck is that unit doing with 32A on a 5v rail, while the 12v is only 30A?

In comparison, a Corsair HX520 delivers 3x18A on 12v and 24A on 5V. It's only a 520W unit, compared to the rated 550 of the other one, yet it is far more powerfull.

Here is a review on the 430

http://solidlystated.com/hardware/sh...nvidia-gt-430/

If you can't be bothered to read it then I'll highlight this...

"The GT430 is not for gaming"

It does go on to say the good points - Fully DX11, under $100, 1x PCI-e slot, it's great for media streaming and good for 3d. But not gaming.

It's just... you can't really buy a proper graphics card for that money. Good PSUs are likewise expensive.

(* actually it seems GTS 250 falls in that price range)

GTS 250 would serve you well I think. I had a notch below that for 3 years, 8800GTS 512. That ran SH5 maxed at medium resolution with some antialiasing.

Good PSU... Antec is a solid brand. Problem is most bransds don't build their own units, they are typically produced elsewhere and rebranded. It's more important to figure out which factory it came from than who slapped a sticker on it.

This, and this are valuable resources when looking for a good PSU.

im not sure about that, ive seen some high enders for under 100.

just remember, im not playing SH5 and SC2 (the most intense) and im not goin dual monitor and playing on a 20' monitor not a huge HD Tv, and all i want is to be able to play SC2 and SH5 on maxed settings and a medium res (1440x900 or under)

Now the card you suggested is DirectX10 and from what ive figured on my own DirectX 11 is the next-gen type. im just trying to get some options you know?

ive been searching and so far ive found a couple promising cards and i would appreciate if you could tell me if any of them would work for what im asking of it, ANd if it with be compatible with my motherboard/Computer in general.

http://www.compusa.com/applications/...oductresources
This one is based of Arclite's recommendation

http://www.compusa.com/applications/...80906&CatId=28
This one looks Very promising, a review talked of playing Crisis on 1600 Series Resolution maxed, and it seems good. Not sure if 822 Mhz Core clock is bad or not though.

And P.s: About the PSU: It IS 30 Amps though, and a supposedly lasting 550W PSU, so does it really matter that the 5v rail has 2 more amps?

You can if you have the proper slot for it. Just make sure you disable the mobile chip in the BIOS.

What you need is a PCI-express x16 slot.

in your BIOS,

that's pressing the ''DEL'' key when the system is starting up (before the windows loading screen)

perhaps this might help
