Asdic problem

Hello,I hope someone out there can help my with this problem. I am running GWX3.0 GOLD. I never had any problems until now.When being hunted by DD, I always had the normal ping-ping-ping. The last night I started getting pinged by a sound that almost blew my speakers off the shelf. No more ping-ping-ping, but BONG-BONG-BONG, like someone hitting the inside of a bell with a hammer. I haven't changed anything in my setup, and everything was fine before. I hope someone can help me out a little, and tell me how to correct this.. THANKS

The RN could have changed ASDIC's during your career, and the sound being slightly different affected your computer somehow so it was really amplified.

Or it was just swamp gas reflecting the light of venus off a weather balloon.

I'd double check your settings, make sure something like effects isn't maxed or something.

Least you know when your getting pinging now.

IIRC, it works something like this...

You will hear pings once the escorts are alerted to your presence. That does not necessarily mean that they have contact on you, just that they know you are there.

Once an escort has an exact contact on you, the sound changes, and speed of the pings increase. That might be what you are experiencing.

I never worry about the pings. I stay at silent run and minimum speed until I hear the propellors. Then I panic!

Have you added any other mods that include sound files?

No I haven't added any other mods containing sound files. It is just the normal sound of the pings has changed somehow. It is not the normal ping-ping-ping, and then increasing as they get closer. it now sounds like someone hitting the bottom of a cast iron skillet, sounding like K-CLANG-K-KLANG K-KLANG. Can I just install another ASDIC sound file and get rid of this one? If so, what would be a good one? Thanks for your help!!!!!!!!!
