Greetings
I've just ended a 90 minuite session trying to get my game to start. It was fine last night, well into my fourth patrol, but today has been a disaster. Attempt No 1. Started using SH3Cdr desktop icon. Sequence was as follows: Check disc. GWX3 loading screen. Main menu. Selected saved Career. Selected saved game (last in series) Game starts loading to point where screen goes black (after "Not so long ago") and one expects the game to start. Get error message to say SH3 has encounted a problem and has to close. Details of message (for what it's worth); AppName SH3.exe Ver 1,4,0,1 Mod name kernel.dll Mod version 0.0.0.0 Offset000187c5 Attempt No2 Rolled back SH3 Cdr As above but starting with GWX3 desktop icon. Result as above. Attempt No3 Started with SH3 icon Result as above. Attempt No4. Started from CD Selected play from menu. As before All the above were attempts at loading the last saved game. I then uninstalled SH3 Commander and tried again using both the GWX3 and SH3 desktop icons and CD with the same results. Next I tried to load the penultimate saved game using the GWX3 and SH3 icons and the CD but got the error message each time. The problem seems to be related to the SH3.exe file. See the error message above. I hope that some one can help but I think I've lost everything. But if the answer is to uninstall everything and start again I don't think I can face that. This is my forth or fifth career since I started playing mid year and every one has ended with a crashed game. |

I think you have the dreaded bad save bug. I would start SH3 like normal but select your 2nd to last save point and hope for the best. I know it sucks to lose that time ingame.

Sometimes you have to go back 2 or 3 saves before it will load, sometimes only 1, but it sure beats doing a reinstall.

It is advised then when installing Suoer mods like GWX or SH3 Commander, one must install it over a clean game, and commence it with a new profile.
Or else the coding in the previous files saved prior to installing super Mods, would conflict with the new codings after installing the super mod, in your case would be the SH3 Commander.

The Kernel32.dll file handles memory management, input/output operations, and interrupts. When you start Windows, Kernel32.dll is loaded into a protected memory space so that other programs do not take over that memory space.
If loading previous game saves doesn't work then all you can do is reinstall the game I'm afraid. |

Thanks every one for the replies.
I think I will take the philosophical view and deem this to be the end of my current career and drink a schnaps(?) to his memory. |
