Hey all,
I've looked for instructions on how to get sh4 to install on my new machine, and i haven't had any luck. I'm running win7x64pro. when i put the disk in the drive, it does not outoplay. When i go to my computer in the start menu and open the optical drive manually, there are no files visible. I must have sh4; it is my favorite game. If anyone would be so kind as to post some links, or, give me some instructions, I would be most grateful. I've checked out a few links but they didn't help. Thanks in advance.

That sounds like either a drive or disc problem. Autoplay can be turned off, but you should be able to see the files and run them manually.
Have you tried using the disc in another computer? If it does the same thing, then there's probably something wrong with the disc. If not, then it seems to be your drive.

The "invisible" files is a new one on me and I would concur that it's a disk or disk reader issue not a Windows 7 issue.
I installed on my new machine with Windows 7 with no problem at all. If the disk doesn't autostart go into explorer, go to your disk and find the setup.exe file. Double-click on that. Again, if you are not seeing any files in Explorer that is not a Windows 7 issue. No offense but do you have an original disk or is it a copy? Key thing to note: Do NOT install it in the Program Files folder which will be the default folder during installation. Install it into C:\Games\Ubisoft or C:\Ubisoft. Installing to the \Program Files (x86) folder should be OK but it's probably better to keep it out of any Program Files related folder. Good luck. |

Yeah, what Tomoose said! My Win7 (64bit) Pro loaded an original, legal SH4 with no problem, once I read the posts and put in a new Directory (C:Games/Ubisoft/SH4...). That said, I did have trouble updating to v1.5 and wound up spending $13.00 US for a Gold edition from Amazon via Subsim. Well worth the extra money and time. That one installed flawlessly (same directory as above) and runs perfectly.
Good luck and enjoy!

![]() Can I get the dvd for SH IV? I prefer that to redownloading it every time I format my drive. |
