Mark 10 question
I'm starting my second carreer so I could upgrade from 1.4 to 1.5 and load TMO 2.0. I just got too annoyed with stock 1.4 and ended my first carreer in late '42.
I've decided to up the realism a litlle in my second carreer and have enabled dud torps. It's December 9th and I'm just leaving Manila in my S18. Question: Did the Mark 10 torps suffer from the same problems that the Mark 14s did? Should I set my depth on the Mark 10s to zero? |

Consider them (the Mk 10s) "reliable". .

They can run deep, but only by 3-4 feet IIRC.
Also in TMO 2.0, there is a chance of duds. However, when compared to the Mark 14, they are incredibly reliable. |

Sergei is correct. At the start of the war, the Mk 10 had a tendency to run about 4 feet deeper, but this was discovered and corrected in 1942. The Mk-10 also used the Mk-3 contact exploder which was a little bit more reliable than the Mk-5 Contact exploder.
What always confused me is that if the BurOrd could recognize the depth problems with the MK-10, why didn't they test the MK-14 until later in the war?
