Silent in SH3 Windowed-mode, when Switching to / using other application
Hi,
This is my first post, and want to give salute to everyone.. ![]() It's a great feeling to become a member of this community. I love to play SH3 in window-mode so i can switch to / using other application program, but i notice that sound/music from SH3 was not heard. The sound was heard during intro movie, but when in menus and starting the game, it always disappear when i'm switching out to other program. I verify that SH3 does not pause/stopped, the clock running normal, attack from warship & airplane happens as usual. If i Alt-Tab or click the SH3 window, the sound wil appear again. -------------------------------------------------------------- Is this behaviour a design feature of SH3 program? Or is there any mods / Windows system tweaking that i need to apply? Or is this because my sound hardware (RealTek) or 32-bit XP? -------------------------------------------------------------- I notice this problem in my laptop: Acer K40IN Intel Pentium Dual Core 2.0Ghz T4200 nVidia GeForce G102M w/512MB 4GB RAM Windows XP SP3 32-bit Realtek sound device Driver file for the sound hardware is downloaded from Acer website and from the Control Panel i check that its certified by Microsoft -Running SH3 + GWX 3.0 in plain condition (no addons+mods), except: -Hi-Resolution screen mod, set to to 1280x960 (laptop native resolution is 1366x768) (but this problem exist without this step) -Applied 4GB patch for SH3.exe + Boot.ini modification (but this problem exist without this step) I also test running music/movies in Windows Media Player or VLC Media Player, the sound would be heard normally even when i'm playing SH3 !! But everytime i click something outside SH3 window or using Alt-Tab, SH3 is "silent" again.. and i wont heard any warning whatsoever ![]() Any information from all of you who know how to sort this problem, would be greatly appreciated especially from some of you who run multi-display setup. I'm curious, do you have the some problem if you put SH3 in one display then working/using programs other display too? |

Welcome to subsim.
I have had this problem too. I don't believe that there is anything 'wrong' as such. It's just the way some games are I think. I don't think that it can be fixed - but I'm sure somebody will be along to correct me if it can. Sorry I can't be of much help, but I have searched and tried to find an answer so I can run it on multi monitor setup, but no luck yet. |

As soon as the SH3 window is not in focus (i.e in use) all sound will be lost. Nothing wrong, it's designed that way.
