Default New to modding, how to use jsgme?

I have Gwx 3 and want to try some more mods. I'm not a computer whiz can someone give me easily understood instructions on how to download, unzip and import a mod into jsgme. How about the lifeboat and debris mod for an example

Download: If a mod is put up for download, you usually just click on the link. That will take you to a window on a website, and it should have a clicky that says DOWNLOAD. Click that. A window will come up that gives options: Open Save Cancel. I always click Save, because I like to have all the mods stored on my computer.

Another window will pop up, asking where you want to save it. I have a folder on my desktop labeled 'New Mods', with separate folders for SH3, SH4 and SH5. After I've tried them I move them to a folder in 'My Documents'.

Unzip: You need a zipping tool. www.7zip.com is the most effective so far. It will open anything. Download 7-Zip to your desktop and run it once. After that when you download a mod you can right-click on the zipped mod and select 'Open with 7-zip'. You can then take the regular folder from the zipped one and move it to the MODS folder inside the SH3 folder.

Activate: Open JSGME. Click on the mod. Click on the single arrow. If it says that other mods are using that file, you need to ask someone here if that will have a negative effect or not. After a few times doing this you'll start to get a feel for what will cause trouble and what will not.

The good news is that if you make a mistake and a mod has an effect you don't want you can use JSGME to take it right back out again.

Exactly what I was looking for. I tried downloading some before asking this last night and I think I messed it up I saved them to the mods folder and they appear on the list in jsgme but they don't work. I don't think they unzipped or I might have double foldered them.
Will I have Any problems if I just delete all those mods and download them correctly?

I used to do this a lot when I first started playing with mods

Should be fine.
Just remember to disable anything you want to get rid of before you delete it.

Thanks everything I've tried so far has worked fine. What is the button for free movement inside the sub? I want to check out my new interior. And Also should I upgrade jsgme to 2.5? It seems like I would have to do a completely separate install
