I liked being in rough seas, it was fun at times. And when it was time for me to hit the rack, the rocking of the boat would put me out the second my head hit the pillow.

That only happened when we changed depth. Many a time I woke up face first in a parts locker.

When I saw the title I immediatly remembered my sailing days.

Now I have never served aboard a large ship like that but have been on quite a few offshore junkets on a sailboat.

Offshore sailboat racing is noted as one of the most dangerous sports in the world. I have seen my fair share of 'accidents' fingers ripped off or mangled, teeth busted out, limbs fractured, eyes gouged... sigh those were the good old days

The up/down flexing I can understand, but that port/starboard flexing?

I wonder how those containers stay on deck sometimes.

Merchant marine sure earn their paychecks.
