Default SH5 sales

There are used copies of SH5 on Ebay and Amazon. I don't understand this. Doesn't DRM prevent these from ever being operable? If so, shouldn't these distributors protect buyers from these sales?

Here in Germany, possibly in other countries as well, Ubisoft's resale restrictions is contrary against applicable commercial law. A purchased software on a disk can here not be exclude from resale, only software purchased as download.

Most resellers of Ubisoft games have create a dummy account at Ubisoft and sell the login data with the games. Ubisoft knows that they could get legal problems if they go against it, so they do nothing. If someone bought a second hand SH5 and not get also the account data or the key is already in use, they can acquire a new key at Ubisoft Germany for 10€

Considering software can not be excluded from resale, I imagine 2nd-hand owners could request a new key for free, and sue Ubi if they refuse.

buyer beware

just because there are ways it can be done correctly, they very well could just be ripping people off so it may not be worth the risk

actually I saw a SH5 2nd hand box being sold in a games retail shop for few pounds in UK.

If it wasn't the fact of DRM and my unstable boradband connection I would have had a go coz it was cheap.

but is true... 2nd hand SH5 are on the market not just on the web but on the game shops. Cheers
