Patrol Area

I got the mission to patrol a specific area, when i arrive nothing happens.

At the other SH you must be present for 24 or 48 hours. In this game nothing happens. Do you have to sink a ship before you can finish? Or go youre second patrol area?

They are Auxiliary Merchant Cruisers, i.e. merchant ships outfitted with weapons to be used as warships. Here is a thread that discusses these ships and the SH5 mission that requires sinking them:
