Default SH3 Commander Death

Hi guys,

So I have NYGM the latest version just recently finished installing Thomsen's sound mod (excellent mod!) and SH3 Commander. I started a patrol in 1940 and was assigned up north of the British Isles. I navigated my way through the Irish Sea and sank 5 ships. Heavy causalities and a damaged boat led me to scrap my patrol and head for home. I docked my boat at St.Naziare and ended the game. Starting up SH Commander my status says "Lost at sea during patrols" and sure enough upon boot up of SH3 my character is dead as a doorknob.

Do any of you guys know what I"m doing wrong?

When you say you "docked your boat", did you hit escape and click Dock At: St. Nazaire"? I'm wondering if there's a chance you didn't actually end the patrol at that point. Sometimes the game itself will kill you if you are in any kind of heavy sea an reload the game.

Other than that I don't have any idea what could have gone wrong.

As Steve has stated, it is important that you end your patrol in the correct way.

This has happened to me when I have been down to within 10% of hull integrity, it would appear the game engine decides you are too far down the road to ruin to reasonably be expected to make it home.

If I estimate I'm approaching 50% hull integrity I head back because too many of your survival features, crush depth for example are compromised.

I returned to port with Hull integrity at 16% using GWX 3 and SH Commander. Only things that worked anymore in my boat was one diesel and one propeller.
No death, just a damn good price job for dock workers.

Hey guys, thanks for the replies.

Sailor Steve-
I did go all the way back to St.Nazaire and I hit the dock boat at St.Nazaire button.

Perhaps I should just start a new campaign and try it again?
