Hi there guys, finally had some time to pick up Silent Hunter 5. Love the game but of course I want to start adding on the mods now. It has been sometime since I have done this and I have completely forgotten on how to go about it.

Do I need any particular program to activate the mods and what mods would you recommend I install?

First thing you need is :-

JoneSoft Generic Mod Enabler (JSGME) v2.4 is now available from http://jonesoft.jaennahre.com

this will help you to install all those great mods.

The mods you download will depend on the type of game you want.

I like to play as realistic as possible. The mods listed below are the ones I have installed. They are in the order that I installed them.

THank you for the quick responce. Do I install the mod enabler into any particular folder in SH5 or do i install it to it's own folder?

Just put it into the SH5 folder.

For me its :-

D:\Simulations\SilentHunter5

Thank you for the info guys. Some splendid mods running in the game now is there a mod which lowers the observation periscope? I find it rather annoying constantly being up the way it is.

Then you didn't install the new UI correctly. Does your UI look like this? If not, . (Though skip the part about the TDC folder, that's all built in now.)
