Default *facepalm* I thought it was going to be all female crews on subs!!!

http://www1.voanews.com/english/news...-92469079.html

I think mixing genders on board ship is STUPID. It creates retarded soap operas that can decrease crew morale and readiness. And now I find that we're not going to have all female crews (which I think makes sense) but mixed!!!

If Norway, Australia, Spain and Canada can do it so can we.

The men and women of the armed forces are supposed to be professionals and conduct themselves in such a manner.

It he/she cant keep it in their pants they should be summarliy dismissed.

I would also be willing to bet that the vast majority of them are married.

Now that I said that it is enevitable that someone will drop their moral standards and 'fool around'.

Best intentions and all that.

I don't actually have an opinion all that strong being for or against but this thread reminds me of a discussion I had a year or so back with a friend who serves on subs in the RN and his response was...."At least they'll (RN) never be short of matresses".

Didn't they use the same arguments they do now when they debated whether or not coloured people should be allowed to serve with white people? "Can't be done, we've got wars to fight, and our troops are too racist to have Negroes among them!".

/thread.

Since there are no female submariners right now, the crew MUST be mixed unless you want a hastily formed crew with no sub operating experience being thrown into a crash course and then placed on the sub.
Cough, Down Periscope, cough.

Supposed to be and are, are two different things.

I completely agree. It takes two to tango and both parties should be held responsible.

That would be an incorrect assumption. The submarine force has one of the highest divorces ratings in all the services. This is due to the long times spent away from home with none or very little two-way communication. Add women into the mix and that already high divorce rate will skyrocket.

Nothing new really. Happens in the rest of the military all the time.

And to our European subsimers, your culture when it comes to sex is completely opposite of ours. We were founded on a Puritan lifestyle that persists to this day.
