Well isn't it lovely. First they bully British fisherman and vandalise British warships with yobbish ramming attacks, then they refuse to pay back money owed to Britain and now, well look at all the damage that Iceland has done to Europe. Nice one. I suggest an end to the wasteful war in Afghanistan and a redirecting of forces in Britain's defence to the Northern Atlantic to combat the Icelandic menace.

I think he's also referring to the fishing disputes between UK and Iceland and the Icelandic economic meltdown that has been happening for some time now and the UK is fairly closely involved.

I voted for War. The Royal Navy has had far too little to do for far too long, and I'm sure the imperialist itch has been bothering our cousins across the pond for some time now.

Well, Iceland has no military...and it has been almost 100 years since a good old-fashioned war broke out in Europe over entirely trivial matters...I say go for it!

Extra points if you manage to lose the first invasion.

War with Iceland

They have ramming gunboats and volcanoes of mass frustration which would down all your fighters easily. You would lose. Britain may have beaten the Argentinians and seized half the world, but Vikings is a whole other story.

Oh, and don't bring up the occupation of WWII -- they let you come ashore, or all the troops would've been chased out of town by women with broomsticks. Be glad they did -- you wouldn't want them start raiding British monasteries again.

Let them do whatever they like.

Vikings don't need anyone's permission to do whatever they like. We're talking a people who come together in the utter darkness of the winter to eat rotten shark meat, and can ground the air traffic of all of Northern Europe without lifting a finger.

Skrælings have a poor history when it comes to combating Vikings. The igloo-residing natives of Vinland do not scare Icelanders. Did I mention the gunboats?

Are you serious? Borrowing a country to stop dictators for then to kindly leave after you're done with the war is quite different than taking a country after a month of fighting, for then to start prohibiting the population from flying their flags and forcing them to learn German in school.

It was morally questionable of the Icelanders to walk right in like they owned the place. But put into context with other things Imperial Britain did during and after the war, it doesn't rank very high.
