Hey guys, I've noticed this with several members blurbs in the forum:
underneath the forum username, instead of the usual 'chief of the boat' / 'sonarman' etc all I see is four small squares that contain numbers and letters:

中国水兵

Why is this? It doesn't seem to do it with everyone, and I don't think my browser is blocking anything... is it something with the forum itself, or is it a language thing?

That single line quoted above of what you describe as "four small squares that contain numbers and letters" shows up for me in your post as characters in some kind of Asian font. Could it be something typed in a font your system doesn't recognize and so it gives you what you're seeing instead?

Yep, the issue is at your end your current browser doesn't support the Asian font/language.

It's the 'Chinese sailor' rank, it should show up as chinese characters normally.

ooh, I wonder if it had anything to do with the FF alert I got recently telling me to disable the Java console? (though that was today)
Strange... the other language characters always used to work. I can't think why they don't any more. New version of FF perhaps?
