Better way to walk up and own ladders ladders?

Is there any way that walking up and down the ladders could be faster? The way they make it so you have to walk forward towards the ladder and then its all slow "entering and exiting the ladder climbing moment" if that makes any sense. Climbing ladders should be more simple than what they currently have, in my opinion.

well, it's STUPID, but i gotta say. shift+wasd makes you run. apart from this...no idea

Hmmm, I dont see whats so complicated about it, nor stupid. Stupid is as stupid does.
And yes, holding down shift and any of the movement keys has you run instead of walk, and also the caps lock key toggles run.

And all this is shown on the key map (F1)
Not everything in SH5 is classified info, ya know.

I've found rclicking is easier to move around then trying to pivot using the arrow keys or a/d or whatever you use.

Yeah I just right click so the mouse stays on pan, left hand on the movement keys, and pinky finger for the shift key. The layout is really designed for this well, almost never need to move the left hand from one spot and control nearly everything.

In tonite's session just for kicks I ran from bow all the way to stern.
16 seconds flat. (No stopping for bananas) And so from bridge to control room about 2 seconds or so.

For getting back up to the bridge from inside the sub, or down by the deck gun... i abuse the Shift+U key.

Also, i found a quick way to get down to the deck gun without using the side ladder. Just sorta straffe into the ladder area while looking somewhat forward and dont look down. You will sort of "Jump" down.

yeah yeah.. i know i should walk up the ladders myself, but who has time for that?
