Default Targeting aircraft

Just wondering how you guys are doing it.
You hop on the gun yourself and aim or do you use the auto method.
If using auto how do you go about picking targets for the gunner? Seems to me just designating a particular plane for my gunners to go for is a mission in itself.

You might be getting the "load game, no morale" bug. In which case AA gun manning is not going to happen.

However, how it's supposed to work doing the 100% captain simulator method is:

1. Chat with deck officer, order "Man AA guns"
2. Bring up binoculars while on deck
3. Aim at aircraft
4. Designate with spacebar

That being said, you're a very vulnerable complex machine using a pea shooter to try to hit a tiny speck airplane often with several big, mean bombs. If at all possible get to a safe depth and leave the heroics for the Luftwaffe.

Yeah, but they're SO ANNOYING, they deserve it !!! Besides, consider the cost of training! It's no cheaper to train a pilot who'll do nothing other than hide under the dash all day on autopilot...

Oh I manage to get guys manning the guns easy enough, I just can't seem to line up the binocs on the tiny speck pf a plane long enough to hit space bar to give them the go ahead to try to shoot them down.
