Hi.
I have problems with my deckguncrew. I targeted a ship via the binocolars, and without me asking, the deckgun was manned and the started shooting at the target. There was (I still havent found it) no way to make them stop or get the deckgun secured via Dieter. Now 3 gamedays later they still manning the gun and when I give the secure to Dieter they just stay there. Only when I dive the disappear. Not only is it anoying cause I never know if they going to waste more of my ammo, they already used all my HE unauthorizedor they just rebbelious and need to be courtmartialed ? And with mods I cant work out how to use them, I hope there be a patch giving the SH4 control version back, I got used to this one and it worked fine. Why in all galaxies did they feel the need to change it ? Thanks all your modders for you effort, |

The only way I can do it is press F5, or what ever your key is to get them to leave the gun. Look under your F1 key menu for the keyboard layout for which ever button is supposed to toggle the crew and use it.
Or get the mod that changes the commands altogether, it's what made my game playable from that aspect. Link to the mod = http://www.subsim.com/radioroom/showthread.php?t=163444 Use the Guncrew key like a fire hold fire, and you should be set. OH...and yes targeting the ship with Binoc's and pressing the spacebar is an automatic man the guns and open fire. But atleased with this mod you can tell them to stop. It is best to use the command first then target the ship though. Sometimes the crew stays at the gun eventhough you have secured it, then you have to do th dive reset. Believe me I've done it more than once untill I got use to the new way of doing things. But now it is natural. 1. Man the deck gun. 2. Choose target 3. They will fire by themselves usually, so dont do it untill your sure they can hit it. 4. Secure the deck gun, when ship is obviously going down.

Don't use Dieter. Use the button and see if it makes a difference. It did for me. You can't rely on him and when he refuses to play along, that's when the trouble starts, I think.

F5 was working for me in just a first patrol. I can't man or unman deck or AA gun neither with WO nor keys. I can shoot an ships (binoculars+space) but I worry what will happen whetn the planes become more aggresive:/ Patch is needed, I guess.

It has to do with moral also. I run the negate moral mod, and since then I've neve had a problem with getting men to the gun.
I just thought of that, sorry. ![]() I have not yet needed my AA so I don't know.
